Streedah
Streedah is a beautiful strand about 20mins north of Sligo. There are three areas, a small beach that is not suitable for kitesurfing, the main strand and the lagoon at the back which fills when the tide is high. The main beach is suitable for NNW - NE winds. The lagoon only works a few hours around the high tide, and it needs to be near spring tides for the area to fill enough to safely kite. There are often horses on the beach so be considerate of them. During the summer, lifeguards are on duty and will ask you not to kite in the swimming zone. The area around the sand dunes is a special area of conservation so please don't drive around them.
Directions:
Go through Sligo and out the other side. Keep going out the bundoran road.
Go straight through the first village (Rathcormac).
Go to the next village, Grange, and take the left hand turn which is signposted for the beach.
Take the next right. You'll go over a cattle grate or two, just follow the road around to the right and you'll reach the beach.
If the tides are high springs, be careful leaving your car at the beach as the water can come in quickly.
